Robbie & Mona Share Ambitious Pop Statement ‘sensation’

"Loads of people have religious songs that praise a god - this one is praising art."

Robbie & Mona have shared new statement ‘sensation’.

The London-dwelling but Bristol-formed pairing caught critical attention with their 2021 debut ‘EW’, before dipping out of the headlights. Returning to their studio, the duo worked on something fresh, aiming to expand their horizons once more.

New album ‘Tusky’ is out on March 10th, with Robbie & Mona beginning to sketch in a few more details. Out now, new single ‘sensation’ is a lush return, an ambitious slice of alt-pop that brims with melodic intelligence.

Seemingly there’s a Lou Reed link in the song’s DNA, and you can almost hear that – the lyrical curl, the desire to step outside of the norm. The project’s Eleanor Gray shares…

“We were listening to Lou Reed and had such a strong reaction to the basslines as well as the slick delivery of his voice. We wanted to make a song that evokes the love affair that you can have with a piece of music or art. Loads of people have religious songs that praise a god – this one is praising art.”

Tune in now.
