RnB Risers Prime Society Share New Single ‘Coffin’

A sun-dappled offering from the Phoenix group...

Prime Society have shared their brand new single, ‘Coffin’.

Coinciding with the resurgence of RnB supergroups, Phoenix ensemble Prime Society deliver a sun-dappled, mellow track to usher in the warmer seasons. Merging rap, soul and pop with hints of funk, the group layer silken vocals over easy-going production, making for an infectious listen all round.

Making their entrance with breakthrough album ‘The World Is Yours’, the group continues to evolve through live performance and studio sessions, defining the next wave of RnB. Crossing paths as mutual friends, family and peers, Prime Society have plied their craft through a collaborative approach. It’s through their contrasts that they thrive, be that Infin8’s more hard-hitting rap verses, or J. Reid’s groove-laden basslines, the melodic keys of Juanton Soup, or Shyheim’s rich, vocal tones, which coalesce together to form a unique, emotional connection between the group and their fanbase.

Speaking on the inspiration behind ‘Coffin’, Prime Society share: “Don’t waste your life overthinking the little things… or anything. We created this track from a jam session at The Dojo. The main progression was spontaneously made by J and Juan, and then Shy started to hum the lyrics. We’ve worked on ‘Coffin’ since 2022, recording seven different renditions before settling on this version you hear today.”

Tune in now.
