Ripsime is making a return with brand new track, ‘Paradise’.
A gritty, addictive listen from beginning to end, the British-Armenian songwriter, producer and all-round artist is marking a new venture. Leaning into the qualities of punk, pop and electronica, the riser embellishes her production with fuzzy acoustics, flickering synths and flecks of funk grooves. Lyrically, the songstress writes on themes of loss and spiritual connections, a deeply personal offering that is equally universal and comforting.
Bouncing back from last year’s debut EP ‘Capsule I: Wicked and Wise’, Ripsime continues to experiment with a broad array of influences, genres and eras. Gravitating towards fans of Talking Heads, The Cure and Kate Bush, the artist’s latest work captures a familiar yet otherworldly spirit, hinting towards a switch in direction for 2025.
Speaking on the track, Ripsime shares: “I anchored this track with a solid bass foundation recorded on a Fender Precision by my bandmate, Luke. We embraced an 80s vibe with the drums, while Luke layered bass effects using various chorus and distortion pedals, perfectly matching the build-up to the drop. This became one of my favourite tracks to produce because it flowed so effortlessly.”
Tune in now.
