London riser Rio Rainz has shared his new single ‘poison!’ – tune in now.
The multi-hyphenate spent his teens on the outskirts of London, a space close enough to the white heat of creativity to feel its lingering blast, while still too far away to truly contribute.
As such, he built his own identity. Incoming debut EP ‘Withdrawal Symptoms’ – out on August 5th – illustrates this, led by an intoxicating new single.
‘poison!’ is pinned down by that spiralling guitar line, his voice moving between rap flows and something more soulful and melodic. Walking in his own lane, Rio Rainz taps into that summer energy – just in time for the heatwave, too.

“I wanted there to be a juxtaposition of writing a feel-good summer smash yet still underlining topics of what my project is about and ultimately means to me.The beauty of the track is that poison can be interpreted to whatever you like, it could be about drugs, the work you do or even a relationship.”
