Ringo Starr Finds God

Former Beatle now teetotal

Former Beatle Ringo Starr has revealed that he is has found God and is now teetotal.

Sat behind the drums, Ringo Starr was the final piece in the jigsaw puzzle for The Beatles. With his laconic stare and non-plussed posture the drummer was the perfect foil to the dual frontmen of Lennon and McCartney.

Ever sensitive, Ringo Starr was the first member of the Fab Four to leave, and took their eventual split the hardest. Plunging himself into a solo career the drummer never quite adapted to life behind the microphone.

Becoming a renowned party animal, Ringo Starr and close friend Keith Moon rampaged around the bars of California during their time off from touring.

Still a highly respected musician, Ringo Starr recently revealed that he no longer drinks. About to turn 70 later this year, the singer told the Daily Telegraph that he is relishing life without alcohol.

“I feel the older I get, the more I’m learning to handle life. Being on this quest for a long time, it’s all about finding yourself,” Starr revealed.

Continuing, the genial drummer claimed that he had found God. “For me, God is in my life. I don’t hide from that … I think the search has been on since the ’60s. I stepped off the path there for many years and found my way (back) onto it, thank God.”

Ringo Starr caused controversy last year when he issued a new video demanding that fans stop sending him memorabilia. The incident led to speculation that Starr had slipped off the wagon.

However the one time Beatles star is relishing life. “There’s that damn song, ‘Life Begins at 40.’ No, it’s not so big anymore. I am nearly 70, and I’d love to be nearly 40, but that’s never going to happen.”
