Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has allegedly told a fan to “fuck off” while picking up and award at a ceremony in Monaco, reports claim.
The musician was collecting the Diamond award on behalf of the Beatles at the World Music Awards. The Diamond award is only given to acts who have sold over 100 million records, and Ringo Starr was on hand at the Monaco ceremony to pick up the gong.
A report in British red top The Mirror claims a source said “a middle-aged woman ran over and threw her arms around him, almost knocking him over.
“Ringo was a bit shocked, he just wanted to get away. After he shouted at her” – reportedly saying “Get off me. Fuck off.” – “she looked absolutely stunned, but he just walked away.”
Former Thomas The Tank Engine narrator Ringo Starr recently posted a Youtube clip in which he demanded fans stop sending him memorabilia to sign, claiming that any letter post-marked later than October 20th would be “tossed”.
