Rick Ross has survived a drive by shooting in the United States.
One of hip hop's larger than life characters, Rick Ross has attracted a fair amount of both good and bad attention. However last night it seems that the rapper was the victim of something much, much more serious.
Celebrating his 37th birthday, the rapper was driving back to his home in Florida when he was allegedly the victim of a drive by shooting. Rick Ross' car was riddled with bullets, before the rapper then crashed into an apartment block.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but neither Ross – nor the female companion travelling alongside him – were injured.
Initially some doubt remained over the identity of the driver, but recent reports from the United States have indicated that Rick Ross has been confirmed as the intended victim.
This isn't the first time that the hip hop star has faced the threat of violence – a recent show in North Carolina was cancelled following threats from the The Gangster Disciples gang.
The rapper has yet to comment.
