Rick Ross Shares Drake Diss ‘Champagne Moments’

It's explosive...

The beef ensnaring much of American hip-hop’s MVPs reached new heights overnight – with Rick Ross taking shots at Drake with ‘Champagne Moments’.

Kendrick Lamar’s sly double entendres on ‘Like That’ seem to have opened all-out warfare in rap’s top tier. K Dot took aim at J Cole and Drake, with Cole then releasing – and subsequently apologising for – a diss track of his own.

Over the weekend a diss track supposedly from Drake was leaked online, in which Drizzy took aim at many of his peers – including Rick Ross.

Rick Ross wasn’t about to sit this one out, and has immediately released ‘Champagne Moments’ on streaming. A direct response to Drake, it repeatedly calls the rapper “white boy” and insinuates that Drake had a nose operation – seemingly, as Ross puts it, to enhance the caucasian aspects of his features.

It starts by claiming that Drake’s bars are penned by ghost writers: “Ghostwriters, they get to floss what you could’ve had / Record label takin’ a loss, are you in your bag?”

Discussing Drake’s leaked diss, he hits back: “Niggas leakin’ they records when we speakin’ directly / If we keepin’ it gangsta, when you see me you check me…”

Repeatedly referring to Drake as “white boy”, he spits: “Flow is copy-and-paste, Weezy gave you the juice / Another white boy at the park wanna hang with the crew…”

The outro features a snippet of Drake talking, and contains some praise from Drizzy towards Rick Ross. Aiming to highlight the apparent falsity of the Canadian artist’s words, Rick Ross then goes ballistic on the mic:

You ain’t never want to be a nigga anyway, n*gga
That’s why you had a operation to make your nose smaller than your father nose, n*gga
I unfollowed you, nigga, ’cause you sent the motherfuckin’ cease-and-desist to French Montana, n*gga
You sent the police, n*gga, hatin’ on my dawg project

Rick Ross adds:

You owe motherfucking Stunna your life, n*gga
Give Weezy some more money, n*gga
Give Rap-A-Lot some more money, n*gga

Tune in now.
