Singer forms new band

The Verve singer Richard Ashcroft has revealed that the working title for his new album is 'Redemption'.

Though his reputation may have fallen on rocky territory, Richard Ashcroft still possesses one of British music's finest voices. From The Verve to his work with UNKLE on into his solo career ol' Tricky Dicky can make the hairs rise on the band of your neck.

Matching his vocal talent with unshakeable self-belief, Richard Ashcroft is currently working on his new solo album. The singer returned to the fold with The Verve for their album 'Fourth' in 2008 but is set to strike out on his own.

Previously, it was revealed that the indie icon was working with a Stateside producer. No ID is better known for his work with Jay-Z, producing last year's hit singles 'Run This Town' and 'DOA (Death Of Autotune)'.

Mixed by long time collaborator Chris Potter, this isn't the first time Richard Ashcroft has worked with a hip hop don. The indie star appeared on UNKLE's 'Psyence Fiction' with his vocals matching DJ Shadow's beats.

Now No ID has revealed that Richard Ashcroft's forthcoming album has the working title of 'Redemption'. Speaking to the NME, the hip hop don claimed that the singer has formed a new group to appear on the album.

Named the United Nations Of Sound it is not known who is set to appear on the band. Due for release in March, Richard Ashcroft has already confirmed a new track will appear in a forthcoming film about sex-trafficking.

Richard Ashcroft is scheduled to release his new album in March.
