Rex Evans has shared his new single 'Lil Shawty'.
The Atlanta native grew up around music, and some of his earliest memories are of spending time in the studio.
His mother was a key facet of the city's music scene, meaning that creativity was imbued in him almost from birth.
New single 'Lil Shawty' is testament to this, a potent return that is nurtured by that biting vocal.
He comments: “My mind moves very fast so I would get bored waiting on my favorite artists to release new music, so I started to make my own. It started in high school with me writing, and recording my friends. Then borrowing my mom’s computer to make beats. As I think back, since she is a musician (playing for OutKast and many more), doing music comes instinctively and organically as any other common gesture I express.”
The song itself is about infatuation, honing in on the first few months when you can't stop thinking about that person.
Rex adds: “‘Lil Shawty’ is about that woman that you love and just can't stop thinking about! Everything she does is elegant, beautiful, and tantalizing you have to put some "ice" on her because you know she's down for you and you want everyone to know you are down for her too…”
