Legendary 60s psych-pop group The Zombies are set to release a full retrospective, covering both original output and solo material, on May 26th.
The album – entitled “The Zombies And Beyond” – follows on the heels of the band’s triumphant reunion shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Collecting together the best of the band’s original output, the album also adds in solo material by lead songwriters Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent, as well as collaborative projects.
The Zombies were a cut above the average beat group, with the baroque keyboards of signature hit “She’s Not There” acting as a precursor to the operatic pop of the late 60s. The band released their masterpiece “Odyssey And Oracle” in 1968, a classic of British psych pop.
“The Zombies And Beyond” will be released on May 26th.
