Regina Spektor has confirmed details of her first concert film and album ‘Live In London’.
Long an adored cult figure, Regina Spektor recently reached the heights she so deserves. The Russian born singer released ‘Far’ back in 2009, and watched in astonishment as the album rose to number three on the Billboard charts.
One of her most accomplished albums, Regina Spektor took her band on tour to celebrate the success of ‘Far’. Mixing new material with some much loved classic tracks, the singer was on radiant form.
Taking control of the Hammersmith Apollo last December, Regina Spektor gave a stunning performance which was thankfully captured on film.
‘Live In London’ is a new live album / DVD which demonstrates the sheep emotive power of the Regina Spektor live experience. Directed by Adria Petty the film features the entire performance as well as backstage footage, inside peeks at the sound check and more.
Much of the bonus material has never been released before, showing a more intimate side to Regina Spektor than has been previously seen.
The set dwells on the material which would form ‘Far’ but also contains a raft of songs loved by fans. Amongst the tracks in the set are ‘Fidelity’, ‘Samson’ and ‘Eet’ with three previously unrecorded new songs also being included.
‘Silly Eye Color Generalizations’, ‘Bobbing For Apples’ and ‘Love You’re A Whore’ are all on display, with Regina Spektor seemingly unable to stop writing.
Regina Spektor’s band were led by Daniel Cho, who worked closely with the singer. A major part in her music, sadly Cho passed away over the summer with ‘Live In London’ being dedicated to his memory.
Regina Spektor is set to release ‘Live In London’ on November 22nd.
