Tottenham rapper Reek0 has returned with new single ‘In Town’, out via Rinse.
A prelude to forthcoming EP ‘Tell Me Some More’, ‘In Town’ is steeped in the lore of Reek0’s North London area code. Tapping into his Jamaican roots over the churn of a hypnotic house beat, Reek0 captures the nocturnal grit of fast-paced cosmopolitan life.
On his debut EP ‘Good Dreams’, Reek0 emerged as a hybrid act. Young, precocious, at times cerebral and abstract, Reek0’s underground sensibility in songs that carry with it a quotidian, street-level resonance, sets him apart from the homogenised scene at large.
Reek0 evolved his sound further on collaborative EP ‘Wun 2’, released last October. ‘In Town’ is a natural continuation of the 6-track project; doused in the neon-tinged glow of after-hours thrills and comedowns.
