Scottish risers Redolent have shared new single 'make big money fast online now'.
The band were born in Dundee, before basing themselves in Edinburgh; ambitious, singular songwriting, they're driving forwards by a shared appetite for experimentation, and Robin Herbert's extraordinary voice.
New single 'make big money fast online now' is a glorious introduction, the continually shuffling drumbeat underpinning an arrangement that is forever in motion.
The gentle melodic twist in the synth line sits against that glorious vocal, which moves from whispered emotion to soaring falsetto.
“At first look it might seem like a materialistic wee song about the compulsion to get cash,” says Robin.
“It’s definitely not [literally about money]; I’m not a money person,” he adds. “It’s me fantasising about never having to think about it again, about being able to do what we want all the time rather than do shite crap that we don’t want to do.”
