Record Label Accused Over U2 Leak

Album streaming now

A recent leak of the forthcoming U2 album has apparently been traced back to the group’s record label.

Forthcoming record ‘No Line On The Horizon’ is the band’s first since 2004, and is highly anticipated by fans. New single ‘Get On Your Boots’ is a blast of visceral energy, with the group’s high profile performance at the Brits raising hopes for the new album.

Universal Music Group’s Australian branch began selling high quality downloads of the new album late last week, Rolling Stone reports. As a result the album was downloaded and shared across the internet, becoming easily available on torrent sites.

The record label have not yet commented on the mistake. However, given U2’s love of secrecy it is expected they will be none too happy with the mishap.

‘No Line On The Horizon’ is currently streaming on the group’s Myspace page as well as the online music library Spotify.

In other U2 news the group have been caught up in the ongoing troubles surrounding Livenation. The band signed a massive deal with the ticket agency, part of which was done in shares in the company. Sadly for all concerned, the shares have now plunged in value.

U2 release ‘No Line On The Horizon’ on February 27th.
