Rebecca Vasmant Shares Gorgeous Jazz Hymn ‘Blessed’

An immersive journey into sound...

Rebecca Vasmant returns with new song ‘Blessed’.

The Glasgow-based voyager is blazing a trail for the city’s jazz scene, a producer, DJ, and composer of real breadth. New album ‘Who We Are, Becoming’ is out in May, and it features 25 musicians pulling in one direction.

New song ‘Blessed’ is out now, and the vaporous, perfume-esque quality overcomes you quietly by seeping out of the speakers.

Beautifully done, there’s a three-dimensional quality to Rebecca’s art, a sense of sound design that is reminiscent of painting – you can imagine her in the studio, utilising each part as though playing with paint on a canvas.

There’s also a connection to ‘Blessed Are The Peacemakers’ by Michael Garrick and Norma Winstone here, too. “I am so incredibly grateful to have heard this track, it has absolutely changed my life”, Rebecca explains. “I wanted to make my own version as a way to show my gratitude and love for such a beautiful piece of music”.

Tune in now.

Catch Rebecca Vasmant on the road next month, including London’s Jazz Cafe on March 7th.
