Rebecca Garton’s ‘Don’t’ Speaks Eloquently Of Reclaiming Independence

It's her soulful new single...

R&B talent Rebecca Garton has shared her soulful new single 'Don't'.

The song emerged from a place of solitude in Rebecca's life, a place where she was able to step back and truly look at her surroundings.

Written last year on the day after Valentine's, 'Don't' was penned in Los Angeles, a city she found enticing but alien.

This filters through into the song itself, a gentle reclamation of independence, one that severs her life from negative influence.

Rebecca comments: "'Don't' is about taking a stand. Being able to say no to the bullshit. Taking back your power as an individual and never letting anyone get comfortable treating you less than you deserve…"

"I try to do everything for everyone," she says. "Now I have a love for music that's deep. I appreciate it more. I feel more shaped as an artist."

Most of all, she wants her music to relay truths to her audience.
