Real Estate Embrace Americana Tones With ‘Haunted World’

A gilded take on guitar pop melancholy...

Real Estate have shared new single ‘Haunted World’.

The band’s new album ‘Daniel’ is out on February 23rd, and it was recorded in Nashville’s fabled RCA studios. The city’s mystique shines through on their latest single, with Real Estate’s jangle pop twisted in a slight Americana direction.

The acoustic guitar sits at the centre, its plangent strumming underpinning Martin Courtney’s affecting vocal, pirouetting out of melancholy with his firm grasp of melody.

There’s also some neat country-esque flourishes – such as Nashville ace Justin Schipper on pedal steel guitar.

Following swiftly on from lead single ‘Water Underground’, this new track displays another side to Real Estate. The band comment…

“‘Haunted World’ sounds like a 90s sitcom theme to us. Network execs – this song is available and we are ready and willing to sell to the highest bidder. We’re super happy with how this one turned out. We had a nice arrangement worked out before we headed to Nashville to record, but it really came to life in the studio. Sometimes a song will surprise you like that.”

Tune in now.
