Indie types Razorlight are the latest group to claim they wish to work with Noel Gallagher.
While blood might be thicker than water, it seems that nothing could convince Noel Gallagher to remain with Oasis. The guitarist departed the band over the summer in acrimonious circumstances, citing “intimidation” as the reason for the split.
However the songwriter won’t be out of work long. Noel Gallagher is rumoured to have begun work on his debut solo album, with songs that he has been stockpiling for some time within Oasis.
Forming touring partners Kasabian have invited the guitarist to join them. The Leicester group are close friends with Noel Gallagher, and claimed in a recent interview that the one time Oasis man would be welcome on their upcoming UK tour.
Now Razorlight have invited Noel Gallagher to work with them. Led by Johnny Borrell the group are currently working on a follow up to ‘Slipway Fires’ the band’s spectacular 2008 album.
Speaking to The Mirror bass player Carl Dalemo suggested: “Maybe we should get Noel to produce the new Razorlight album. We’re looking for a producer.”
“We need some northern cred!” he added.
Razorlight, meanwhile, split with their drummer earlier this year. Replacement David Sullivan-Kaplan told the newspaper that he was fitting in well, with new material on the horizon.
“Within a week it felt like I’d been here for years,” he said. “These guys are great, the music is great, they were very patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. It couldn’t have been a better fit, really. It’s been really fun and we’re already working on new material and playing new stuff live.”
Noel Gallagher has yet to comment, though ClashMusic imagines he has had enough of mouthy frontmen.
