Razorlight Hit The Charts

'Slipway Fires' Goes Top Five

Johnny Borrell’s band of indie pirates Razorlight have hit the charts with eagerly anticipated new album ‘Slipway Fires’ entering the UK album charts at number four.

The group have been buoyed by the success of recent single ‘Wire To Wire’ and have fans have snapped up the new album in their thousands. ‘Slipway Fires’ was Clashmusic.com’s ‘Album Of The Week’ and is an ambitious epic, worthy of Borrell’s hyperactive gob.

Elsewhere on the charts Girls Aloud stormed to the top spot with new album ‘Out Of Control’. Pop heaven for some, aural hell for others, nonetheless the group will be appearing in a few stocking come Christmas time. Indie giants Snow Patrol and Kings Of Leon remain in the Top Ten, with their albums sharing a wide eyed vision and a longing for stadium supremacy. The top ten is rounded of by a new entry from Status Quo who have issued yet another ‘Greatest Hits’ – the boogie never dies.

Over on the singles chart the X Factor finalists still reign supreme, with the top ten dominated by divas. Beyonce, Britney and Leona all have massive singles landing in the chart, with faux-lesbit Katy Perry replacing her hugely popular ‘I Kissed A Girl’ with ‘Hot ‘N’ Cold’.
