British rockers Razorlight are set to be the subject of a new documentary on their career to date.
It’s been an interesting year for Razorlight. Touring widely tension within the group led to drummer Andy Burrows taking the long walk.
In interviews after the split the drummer claimed that singer Johnny Borrell just could not stand having another songwriter in the band. Recruiting another drummer, Razorlight set off for a defiant tour of the United States playing some important television shows.
Never one to stay quiet, Johnny Borrell claimed in an interview that he had co-written the bulk of Florence And The Machine’s Brit award winning material. When, of course, he, hadn’t.
Since then the group have retreated to the studio, with Razorlight currently working on their first album since the widespread success of ‘Slipway Fires’ in 2008. Their first new material without Burrows, fans are itching to hear what they have been up to.
Now Razorlight are due to be the subject of a documentary. ‘Rock And Roll Lies’ is directed by Charles Henri-Belleville and is due to premiere on the internet television site Babelgum from December 9th.
An in depth look at the band’s career, it follows Johnny Borrell from his early participation in The Libertines until the departure of Andy Burrows earlier this year.
In addition to an online release ‘Rock And Roll Lies’ is set to have a one off screening in London. The public showing will take place on December 8th and will also feature introductions by Johnny Borrell and the film’s director.
‘Rock And Roll Lies’ premieres on December 9th.
