Celebrated US singer Ray Lamontagne is set to return to the UK after announcing an 11 date headline tour, following on the heels of the release of new album ‘Gossip In The Grain’.
Hailing from Maine, Ray LaMontagne was a shoe maker by trade until rising one morning and hearing a track by Stephen Stills. Inspired, he left the job and began to make his way in the world of music.
Montagne’s raspy voice and folk influenced songs have built him a cult following, particularly in the UK. New album ‘Gossip In The Grain’ will be released on October 13th through 14th Floor Records, and is a wonderful display of earnest songwriting.
The tour kicks off in early 2009, and to coincide with this the label will be releasing the album’s opening track ‘You Are The Best Thing’ as a single on February 23rd.
