Emerging creative ratbag makes her bow with new single ‘rats in my walls’.
The songwriter actually began her creativity in visual arts, kicking off a TikTok account to cover her myriad projects. Uploading everything from fashion diagrams to personal photography and images of sculptures she was working on, the channel became a kind of mind-dump for someone who couldn’t switch off.
Eventually this energy permeated her music, and she began interspersing the clips with some of her own original music – and naturally, it took off.
Amassing her own fan army, ratbag completed work on her debut single, and ‘rats in my walls’ becomes a point of introduction for the world at large. Enormously independent in its creative pathways, there’s a kind of punk-like energy to her intensity.
A song about paranoia, and moving through dark times, ‘rats in my walls’ takes on a light of its own – it’s a project about recovery, a song about renewal.
Aired via a twisted Where The Wild Things Are inspired clip on TikTok, the full video is now online. ratbag dedicates it to “those who are tired of being tired, whose bodies ache for rest, this song is for you, play it louder than your pests…”
Tune in now.
