Ratbag Hits Back With ‘pinky boy’

It's a colourful piece of rebel-pop...

Ratbag returns with new single ‘pinky boy’.

The formidable New Zealand alt-pop voice shot to viral fame with debut EP ‘why aren’t you laughing?’ a few months back, a scorching series of anthems-in-waiting that lit up the internet.

Out now, ‘pinky boy’ continues her adventures, and the lyrical spite learns to push back against neglectful partners.

A song about asserting your own worth, there’s also a gleefully subversive edge to Ratbag’s songwriting.

The video is shot from the perspective of a self-proclaimed pinky boy, and it highlights his own deficiencies. Ratbag comments…

“‘pinky boy’ is a song about shitty boyfriends and poorly treated pussycats. It describes the dynamic between an unappreciative boyfriend infuriatingly unable to recognise the talent, intelligence and deep coolness of the woman he’s dating.”

Tune in now.
