Ramones are set to re-issue their seminal 1976 debut album.
The legendary debut spearheaded the New York punk movement, and provided a blueprint for countless other bands to follow.
Everyone from The Clash to Green Day, Minor Threat to We Are Scientists owe a debt to the Queens four-piece, whose ultra-simplistic rock music was often immitated, but never bettered.
Working with the original tapes producer Craig Leon has overseen the re-issue process, with the full package to feature a spruced up version of the original album alongside rare and unreleased demos, and a live show from London's Roxy club in 1977.
The re-issue features production notes by Leon, an essay looking back on the Ramones’ early days by journalist Mitchell Cohen, along with additional pictures taken by Roberta Bayley – who of course shot the iconic cover.
'Ramones' will be re-issued on July 29th.
