Raisa K’s ‘Affectionately’ Is Softly Overwhelming

An entrancing new album...

London-based composer Raisa K has shared her impressive new album ‘Affectionately’.

The musician is a key part of the city’s left-field nexus, playing a vital role in the group Good Sad Happy Bad.

An associate of Mica Levi, Raisa K has also worked with a number of other pivotal figures, while maintaining her own solo enquiries.

New album ‘Affectionately’ is out now, and it’s a softly overwhelming listen. A 12-track song cycle, the material moves between indie abstraction and buzzy electronics, held together by her understated sense of assurance.

Pitched somewhere “somewhere in between a diary and a letter”, the material on ‘Affectionately’ was sketched out at various sites around London. Working from her laptop, there’s a quicksilver feeling to the material with the demands on Raisa’s time as a parent forcing her to be economical.

Out now on tastemaker imprint 15 love, you can check out ‘Affectionately’ below.
