Rage Against The Machine Get Political

Zach De La Rocha Reveals Political Stunt

Reading & Leeds headliners Rage Against The Machine may be planning to hijack this week’s Republican Convention when John McCain is officially named as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate.

The highly outspoken band’s possible plans were unveiled when Reading And Leeds Festivals boss Melvin Benn spoke recently (of De La Rocha).”He wanted to play Friday and Saturday, because there’s a Democratic Convention [in Denver] and he wanted to be at that,”

Benn then went on to cause further speculation, by adding “there’s a Republican one on Wednesday (August 27) and he (de la rocha) wanted to go and picket that, and there’s a stunt they’re going to pull off that will no doubt hit CNN during the course of the week.”

The band – one of the most politically outspoken in musical history- are yet to comment on their plans for the convention, but no doubt CNN will keep you updated.
