Globe trotting eco-friendly Oxford group Radiohead could be set to being recording new material soon, according to an interview guitarist Ed O’Brien.
Radiohead releases their last album ‘In Rainbows’ as a download on December 31st 2007. The album was the group’s first since they left former label EMI and used an innovative ‘pay what you like’ procedure.
The album went on to become a massive success, hitting the top of the charts in both Britain and the United States. Eventually scooping a Grammy award, ‘In Rainbows’ is widely regarded as one of Radiohead’s finest works.
Guitarist Ed O’Brien spoke to the BBC after a recent meeting of the Featured Artists Coalition. The musician stated “we are working on new material. We’ll be doing some more recording. It’s business as usual.”
O’Brien added “we will be doing a little bit of touring in the summer, watch this space!”
All of which is, of course, extremely exciting. More exciting, however, is the recent spat between Radiohead and Miley Cyrus. Teenage star Cyrus felt snubbed after the group refused to meet her backstage at the Grammy awards, and ranted at the band in an interview.
Radiohead’s publicist told US Weekly “when Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement.”
Ouch!
