Radiohead have confirmed the release of their new album ‘The King Of Limbs’.
In one fell swoop, Radiohead rejuvenated their career and turned the music industry on its head. ‘In Rainbows’ was a stunning album, which side stepped the traditional release format to embrace the internet.
So y’know – no pressure guys. After a three year gestation period Radiohead are now set to return with the release ‘The King Of Limbs’ on May 9th, in the unusual ‘newspaper album format.
Announced on their official website, Radiohead will package ‘The King Of Limbs’ in an expansive format. Available from May 9th, the album will contain:
– Two clear 10″ vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
– A compact disc.
– Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-de-gradeable plastic to hold it all together.
– One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from the website, will receive a signed 2 track 12″ vinyl.
If May seems like just too far away then don’t worry. As usual, Radiohead have a special digital release planned which will be available from February 19th – the mp3 version is priced at a very reasonable £6.
Pre-orders are being taken now, with the band also releasing the artwork – that’s it over there! Little else is known about the album, with the full tracklisting due to be confirmed over the next few days.
