London based electro duo Radioclit are preparing a new fourteen track compilation ‘The Sound Of Club Secousse’.
Electronic music is now a truly global concern. In ghettos across the world young producers are hooking up cheap synths, downloading cracked software and crafting some truly startling sounds.
The results are already influencing Western culture. Check out Diplo’s adoption of Baile Funk, or the rise to fame of groups such as Buraka Som Sistema who blend bass music with North African percussion.
London dance duo Radioclit have been picking up on these new sounds, focussing on electronic music in Africa. A huge area to delve into, the duo recently launched their new club night ‘Club Secousse’.
Based in London and Paris the night sees Radioclit blend their own productions with the latest cuts from Africa. With the growth of the internet the pair can now stay abreast of new movements on the continent, adding in their own remixes as they go.
Now the duo have compiled a new mix introducing the club. ‘The Sound Of Club Secousse’ contains some exclusive cuts, as well as new tracks from African inspired side project The Very Best.
“We launched our Club Night Secousse in 2008 with a simple challenge in mind: to bring people together and promote worldwide ghetto culture,” Etienne Tron told Resident Advisor.
“Mainstream music culture was becoming an oppressive and stagnant machine, dance music was stuck and our interest in hip hop was quickly fading out. We were thirsty for exotic sounds, and started exploring as many local ghetto scenes as we could.”
‘The Sound Of Club Secousse’ is set to be released on October 1st. Tracklisting:
