Celebrated mash up merchants 2ManyDJs are set to launch their own online radio station later this year.
Belgian group Soulwax have always had a dancefloor edge to their sound. Epic album ‘Nite Versions’ was released in 2005, and has become hugely influential due to its smooth mixture of beats and crunching guitars.
However not content with this, two members of the group joined forces to craft a new DJ team. David and Stephen Dewaele became 2ManyDJs and began rocking dancefloors around the world.
Pioneering the mash up, 2ManyDJs released a series of mix tapes titled ‘As Heard On Radio Soulwax’. Piling a vast amount of tunes into one mix, the album became a cult party rocker and spawned numerous imitators.
The gap between Soulwax and 2ManyDJs has always been difficult to define. Last year’s documentary ‘Part Of The Weekend Never Dies’ saw the divide blur even more, as group and DJ team seemed to merge into one.
A continuing thread of the Soulwax / 2ManyDJs continuum is the ‘Radio Soulwax’ idea. The launching pad for the mix series, ‘Radio Soulwax’ is about to become exactly that with a host of new web broadcasts planned.
Crafting together brand new mixes, special guests, themed hours and a unique visual element Radio Soulwax is unlike anything you have heard before. Free to air, with no ads or sponsors, the shows are being broadcast for the love of music.
To launch the new radio shows, 2ManyDJs are set to tour the UK. Featuring live 2ManyDJs production for the very first time, these are set to kick start the summer with a party those who attend will struggle to forget.
