Radio 1 DJs Defend Dave’s ‘Black’

Radio 1 DJs have been moved to publicly defend Dave's 'Black' from criticism.

The rap cut comes as the London artist prepares his debut album 'Psychodrama', a release already being billed as one of the most important in this country in 2019.

'Black' leads the way, and it's a discussion of black British identity, with Dave picking apart the diasporic experience.

The all-star video set the internet alight, but it seems that repeated BBC Radio 1 plays are ruffling the feathers of… well, let's just call them racists, shall we?

Greg James defended the song on his Breakfast Show, while Annie Mac tweeted her support of this, saying: "It’s not just okay to talk about race. It is crucial…"
