Rachel Chinouriri’s ‘Happy Ending’ Is A Refreshing Break-Up Antidote

Her new EP 'Better Off Without' is incoming...

Rachel Chinouriri has shared the full video for her song 'Happy Ending'.

Clash caught the songwriter at Brighton showcase the Great Escape, with Rachel Chinouriri charming everyone present.

Airing some brand new material, the London based artist has now dropped her latest EP in full.

Out now, 'Better Off Without' expresses her thirst for melody, stretching the indie pop context she works in to breaking point.

Taken from the EP, 'Happy Ending' is a heavenly slice of songwriting, a breezy, summer-infused burst of effervescent energy.

She describes: “When you’re together five years, you almost think you’re going to get married at some point. People would make jokes; ‘never break up, or she'll write about you’. I didn’t think I would, but nope — it’s literally all about him, breaking up and realising that you can be more positive by yourself.”

“Over the four or five years I've been in the industry, I've definitely wandered away from my indie roots, trying to fit in or be cooler or more experimental,” she adds. “But then I was just kind of like, indie is what I love. Why don't I just go back?”

Tune in now.
