Queen Of Hearts Broods On Long Distance Relationships With ‘The Water Between Us’

Check it out now...

Queen Of Hearts needed some space.

Real name Liz Morphew, her 2014 debut album 'Cocoon' was a low key delight, the sound of a classically trained talent immersing herself in languid synth pop.

Since then, she's fallen in love, tried to make it work, and then mourned as the relationship finally broke down, pulled apart by distance and time.

Returning to music, Queen Of Hearts sketched out new ideas, pouring her feelings into a series of pop hymns.

New single 'The Water Between us' references this relationship, her feelings of frustration and dealing with the emotional fallout from the break up.

She explains: "I wrote 'The Water Between Us' after a long-distance relationship I was in broke down quite catastrophically. I'd taken a little temporary break from music, but writing this track was very much a way of expressing myself and dealing with the emotions I had at that particular time. I originally wrote it for another project, but quickly realised that it was my story and I wanted to tell it. I think it's one of my favourite things I've ever written."

Beautifully etched, it's an engrossing, exacting return from a potent pop talent. Tune in now.
