Pumpkins Bassist Gets Arty

Trail Of Dead Man To Feature

Melissa Auf Der Maur, former bassist with both Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, is to display her photography in a new exhibition in New York next month, it has been announced.

The exhibition featuring Melissa Auf Der Maur launches on October 23rd, and will take place in an East Village gallery in New York. As well as the former Smashing Pumpkins bassist, the exhibition will use work by And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead’s Conrad Keely and will feature the artwork for that band’s next album.

A major figure in the US alt rock scene during the 90s, Auf Der Maur played on some of American indie rock’s most defining records. A recognized photographer in her own right, she has appeared in magazines across the world.

Keely, however, works in blue ballpoint pen and has recently displayed at the RIATS Fest in Brooklyn. His new collection has apparently been two years in the making, with previous works featuring on the sleeves of records by And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead.

Melissa Auf Der Maur and Conrad Keely’s exhibition opens in New York on October 23rd.
