Leeds post-hardcore merchants Pulled Apart By Horses are to release a new live album in time for ‘Record Store Day’.
The reputation of Pulled Apart By Horses precedes them. Live, then band quite literally shed blood, sweat and tears in what must rank as one of the most intense performances by any rock band working today.
A series of limited edition singles have only reinforced their case – Pulled Apart By Horses are one of the most frenetic, out there acts around.
Penning a deal with Transgressive, Pulled Apart By Horses have become the second equine act to join their stable. The band’s first act on the imprint will be to released a limited edition live album in time for ‘Record Store Day’.
Held on April 17th, the event celebrates the dusty vinyl boutique down a lonely city street. Fast disappearing, the record store is one of the cornerstones of the industry.
Pulled Apart By Horses have recorded just one of their 309 gigs over the past twelve months. Taking in headline shows, support stints with Biffy Clyro and countless festival escapades it’s been a busy year for the band.
Now the Leeds hardcore troupe are to take stock. Released on limited edition 12 inch, the new live album captures the sonic fury of Pulled Apart By Horses at their most visceral. Limited to just 500 copies, the album was recorded at the band’s spiritual home ‘The Packhouse’ in Leeds.
Released in a homage to The Who’s ‘Live At Leeds’ the new album will contain similar packaging, including the set list plus one exclusive photo taken at the gig (with five different photos available to collect). Each vinyl will also be hand stamped by the band.
