After fans complete funding

Public Enemy have begun recording their new album after completing a fundraising challenge.

The internet is posing all kinds of problems for the music industry. Some bands have attempted to bond with the world wide web, with Public Enemy attempting to use it as a forum to gain funding.

Working with the website Sellaband the group attempted to secure funding for a new album. However the project with fraught with difficulty, after Public Enemy were forced to lower the amount they were looking for.

Fans could sign up for a range of packages, with their money being put into a recording budget. Now Public Enemy have announced that after raising £51,000 through the website they will begin work on a new album.

“We just received word that our fundraising campaign has completed,” Public Enemy said. “This is truly a great moment for us and we owe it all to our fams on Sellaband– our true ‘Believers’.”

“It has been a long and winding road,” they continued. “We’ve had explosive starts, media attention, corporate troubles, media criticism, recalculations and finally resurgence.”

Finishing, Public Enemy again paid tribute to their fans and re-affirmed their faith in the funding model. “When its all said and done, the bottom line is that we never lost faith in ourselves, our fans and the future of fan funding as a model.”
