The club figure acts as a pivot between the UK and Ghana, a one-man cultural interchange that brings together two different underground communities with a common set of links and outlooks.
Breaking out in 2019 with a flurry of singles, Professor Paws carried on working throughout lockdown, his exceptional work-rate married to a clear passion to communicate with – and entertain – his fans.
New single ‘Bruk Up’ is a summer burner, with Professor Paws injecting some energy into these damp UK months. Lighting up the track with sunshine, ‘Bruk Up’ feels built for those festival spaces, but there’s also a touch of emotion on display, too.
He comments: “This is about a true and mature heartbreak, I’m sure most can relate because it’s the most honest song I’ve written to date…”
Now Professor Paws has spun the track back round, sharing a full amapiano remix as summer swings into full season – the bubbling rhythm leads somewhere a little more palatial than these isles, adding that South African swing in the process.
