Priya Ragu’s ‘Vacation’ Searches For Joy

Her new album is incoming...

Priya Ragu has shared her new song ‘Vacation’.

Out now, the new song leads into her debut album, with ‘Santhosam’ set to be released on October 20th. The word translates as ‘happiness’ in the Tamil language, and reflects an artist fusing her heritage with her ambitions.

Indeed, the album as a whole strives towards joy, and attempts to find meaning and structure within her life. Priya comments: “The album is my story of finding happiness. It helped me find my purpose in life. Maybe it will help others, too.”

New song ‘Vacation’ embodies this search for joy, with her effervescent vocal coupled to the arrangements’ innate, pop-leaning iridescence. A fine, finessed slice of melody, it arose during writing spells on the road.

Priya Ragu comments…

“That song came about while we were touring and writing at the same time. We just reached a limit. We were exhausted from all of the travelling, creating and never really being home, so we booked a flight to India. But it’s not just about being a pop star or being creative. Even when I had my office job, I was lost in that. That song is a reminder of how important it is to give yourself a break, to step back, let loose and allow yourself to recharge your batteries.”

Tune in now.
