Prinzhorn Dance School are streaming the video for their new single ‘Happy In Bits’.

More than four years on from their opinion-splitting debut, Prinzhorn Dance School have finished work on a follow up. ‘Clay Class’ is set to be released on January 30th, with the duo promising material which has an uplifting, redemptive tone.

‘Happy In Bits’ is the first track to emerge from the new album. Available from December 26th, the single is an unusual soundtrack to the Boxing Day sales.

Given a visual accompaniment, Prinzhorn Dance School pairing Tobin Prinz and Suzi Horn have stepped in to film and direct the video. Watch the clip for ‘Happy In Bits’ below…

Helpfully, Prinzhorn Dance School have provided a few quotes to illuminate work on their second album. Reflecting on the vein of optimism in the new album, Tobin Prinz said: “If you’re going to face up to really difficult underlying themes sometimes the best way to do that is to let a bit of optimism in there”.

Continuing, Prinz emphasised the sense of alienation running through the band’s music. “Even though our band lives in two different places at once – Brighton and Portsmouth a sense of belonging doesn’t really happen in either” he said.

“I think that’s a wider issue which probably affects millions of people in this country, and the empty spaces Suzi and I are interested in – fields; lakes; warehouses; the sea; huge, people-less car-parks, or even the gaps in our music itself – simultaneously amplify that feeling, and give you the room to ask questions about it”.
