Primal Scream and Daniel Avery are set to team up on a new theme for BT Sport's Premier League Show.
Primal Scream's re-invention as a dance-rock phenomenon changed the way British rock bands operated. A genuine splitting-the-atom moment, their shift from MC5 / Stooges rock to the freewheeling creativity of 'Screamadelica' remains inspiring.
So whenever the group hook up with a new producer, Clash gets a little excited. Agreeing to craft a theme for BT Sport's Premier League Show, Primal Scream have decided to re-record their classic rave-era single 'Come Together'.
In addition to this, Fabric resident Daniel Avery has agreed to supply some additional electronics. With his Phantasy backed debut album set to be released shortly, the Peckham based producer is the ideal choice to tinker with the band's swirling, gospel-infused atmospherics.
Grant Best, BT Sport Senior Channel Executive Producer, said: "We’re already working with some tremendous names at BT Sport so we’re delighted to be working with a unique talent like Daniel Avery and one of the UK’s most iconic bands too. We want our viewers to come together and enjoy sport with BT and this is the perfect track for BT Sport".
Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie added: "We’re all big football fans, so to have our music used on BT Sport is great and we’re really excited about playing live from their new studios."
