Dance-rock titans Primal Scream have announced a free download for fans, with a cover of the Hawkwind classic “Urban Guerilla” available on the net right now.
The band are set to return with new album “Beautiful Future” on July 21st, to be preceded by the single “Can’t Go Back” on July 14th. The new cover shows a clear link between Primal Scream and Hawkwind – a fascination with rebel chic, an ever-evolving line up and copious drug use being the factors they most have in common. It’d be nice if Primal Scream let Michael Moorcock write some lyrics for them, but that may be taking things too far.
