Preview: Olympics Closing Ceremony

Who will perform?

Speculation is mounting about tonight’s (August 12th) Olympic closing ceremony in London.

Launched amid much speculation, the London 2012 Olympics have overcome the doubters. Gaining huge nationwide popularity, the games captured the public’s imagination with a spectacular opening ceremony.

Now, with the Games coming to a close, speculation is mounting over the closing ceremony. Set to take place at the Olympic Park, The Sun yesterday (August 11th) leaked out a number of pictures from rehearsals.

The pictures show The Spice Girls, George Michael, Jessie J, Brian May, The Pet Shop Boys and more taking part. A listing on Amazon for a Kate Bush remix has also led to fierce (and as yet unfounded) speculation that the reclusive singer will appear at the ceremony.

The Sun also claim that Kaiser Chiefs, Madness and Fatboy Slim will appear at Olympic Park. Intriguingly, Norman Cook is apparently set to emerge at the closing ceremony on top of a giant inflatable…

Elsewhere in London, Hyde Park will play host to an Olympic closing party of its own courtesy of BT London Live. Blur are set to headline, with assistance from New Order, The Specials and more.
