Hear 'Haircut' reworked...
Rainbow Chan

Clash is pleased to premiere this rather smart remix of Rainbow Chan's 'Haircut', as shaped by the fair hands of Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner.

For those at the back, Rainbow Chan is a Sydney-based artist - originally born in Hong Kong - who's seen her music reach new audiences aplenty in 2013. Her cover of The Cardigans' 'Lovefool' saw The Line Of Best Fit write: "Chan could carve out her own private niche in the world of weirdly intoxicating pop."

Pigeons & Planes said of her 'Long Vacation' EP, back in July: "(It) singlehandedly places her among the most innovative composers and musicians on the scene right now." That "scene" being the world of electro-pop, and its ever-shifting shapes and forms. So yeah, she's got the press on her side.

'Haircut' is one of five tracks featured on 'Long Vacation', and we have it here as remixed by the aforementioned Nick Zinner, who really brings something new to proceedings. This possesses a much more 'live' feel than the original, with extra percussion pushing the remix into almost tropical territories - perhaps not what you'd immediately expect from the YYYs man.
