It's difficult to know where to place V.C.
A producer from Finland – itself a country whose dance scene is rarely explored by outsiders – the artist nods towards certain offshoots of techno, as well as niche areas such as Scandinavia's skweee scene.
It's a bizarre concoction, but it seems to work. Released new EP 'Black Squirrel White Castle' on his own Raha & Tunteet label, V.C. runs the gamut between boom bap percussion, oddball effects and sheer machine funk.
Clash is able to premiere 'Brass' and it's a cute introduction to the producer's unique style. V.C. builds from the bass up, the sub-low belches matched against squealing synths.
