The Jazz Butcher have embarked on one of British music's longest and strangest adventures.
Toasting 30 years of the Jazz Butcher Conspiracy, the band invited fans to help them fund a new album. 'Last Of The Gentlemen Adventurers' was the result, a swooning and inviting return that nonetheless contained a deadly sting.
Given a full re-issue by Fire Records, 'Last Of The Gentlemen Adventurers' remains as potent as the day it was conceived.
With The Jazz Butcher set to play a short burst of live shows, Clash is able to place the title cut online. Atop a lilting jazz backing the vocal is a tender, beatific salute to a lifetime spent outside the mainstream.
