Premiere: The Amazing – ‘Safe Island’

Dreamy Swedes with some blissful folk tapestries...

Call The Amazing what you like, just don't call them psychedelic. Christoffer Gunrup explains: “I hate the word. I have no relation to psychedelic music or prog rock.”

Dreamy, intoxicating guitar-focussed pop music, The Amazing have pastoral, hazy charms. New album 'Picture You' drops on February 17th, a gorgeous record which seems to drift out of the sub-conscious.

Sessions were born out of simply feeling – the band refuse to talk about music, preferring instead to play, to create.

New track 'Safe Island' is premiering on Clash right now, and it's a beautiful stopping off point. Recalling the softer side of Spacemen 3 or even the sighing charms of the shoegaze movement, The Amazing match impressionistic arrangements to lyrics which speak of a quite real sense of pain.
