Acid House remains, for many, the bedrock of both electronic music and club culture. It's a style, a movement, a feeling that occurs and recurs with warming regularity.
Terrence: Terry is highly respected, with the producer gently aiding his La Vie En Rose imprint. Returning to the fray, Terrence: Terry is due to release new EP 'Acid Heroes' this week.
A trio of club-ready workouts, Clash is able to premiere an extract from 'Testing The Water'. Bubbling synths and jackin' rhythms, it's both unrelenting and teasingly subtle.

What is the concept behind your ‘Acid Heroes’ EP?
First of all I wanted to put out a solo EP on my own label. I’ve been working tirelessly on La Vie En Rose for a few years now and I haven’t actually released a full EP of my own! Secondly, the actual concept was to make a proper three track EP designed especially for the club.
'Acid Heroes' is a contemporary take on classic Chicago house; deep, a little moody with lots of groove. 'Cliché' as the title suggests is a real cliché (in a good way of course!) using this nineties US vocal sample with a cool techno rhythm, 'Testing The Water' is a more personal track for me – it’s reminiscent of my Freak 'n' Chic days, actually.
In regards to your upcoming ‘House Couture’ compilation. Are there major links between the music that you have selected and the fashion world? And if so, how?
The main idea was to link the title of the compilation with Fashion. In French, 'Haute Couture' means a certain type of high-end, bespoke fashion – I thought it was quite amusing, but also quite relevant to play around with the term and use it for the title of the compilation. This is high quality house music, la classe!
I moved to Madrid a few years ago with my girlfriend to set up a communication agency for fashion trade within the Spanish territory (print and online media) > www.atagency.es. So, on a more personal level, the title is also closely linked to my endeavours in that respect, too.
Can you tell us about this year’s plans for your label ‘La Vie En Rose’?
Well, we have a lot of things forthcoming! First, we will have the official release date of House Couture in April, with a lot of gigs around the project; Chalet/ Berlin, Wood/ Brussells, Badaboum/ Paris, Gare/ Porto… My solo EP ‘Acid Heroes’ is out today of course! You’ll be able to find that in all good record shops. Beyond those two, I’m very pleased to have the French veteran, a legend in fact, Jerome Pacman dropping an EP with us, which is super cool. It will come with a Livio and Roby remix then we have the Ibiza-based British duo Acid Mondays coming with some heat.
For the summer Paolo Rocco and his crew Raw Moments from Montreal will be representing, also during this period we’ll host a showcase in Barcelona with my friends from Overall Music during the OFF Week with a very strong line up. To close one of our biggest years so far, La Vie En Rose will be dropping an album from a French duo but I can’t say anymore right now… watch this space, I’m very excited about this one.
I’m excited about everything actually, 2015 is a really strong year for the label!
