Part of the Dub Police crew, Subscape is known for composing vast, deep productions.
Exploring the cavernous recesses of bass culture, new release 'I Would Have Loved You' possesses a soulful edge. Due for release on September 8th, it's part of the ongoing sessions for the producer's debut album.
The producer explains: "When I created 'I Would Have Loved You', I wanted to make a 4×4 dubstep tune that linked back to my previous single 'Nothing’s Wrong'. I just went with the flow and worked from my influences to help me write the track. Everything just came together with the tune, with the explosion of the house scene it was quite easy for people to relate to it. I made it really quickly, and sometimes that’s the best way, when you get everything down almost like you’re not thinking about it – and then it all works out."
Clash is able to premiere the Atlantic Parade remix. "I bumped into Atlantic Parade by accident," he continues, "and thought that his sound would be cool for a remix of 'I Would Have Loved You', the 130BPM house vibe that he’s on fits perfectly with the original."
Flushed with light and buoyant euphoria, the sheer unbridled optimism of Atlantic Parade's remix sits in quiet opposition to Subscape's initial production. But then there's still that stinging vocal sample to deal with…
