Primordial, primitive, powerful...

It's difficult to ignore the level of protest, of indignant energy, filtering across the globe.

STEARICA haven't been immune to this. The Turin based group have absorbed the news, read the reports and analysed the headlines – and it's filtered into their music.

Francesco Carlucci: "The album was born more or less consciously with the images of those squares filtered daily by the Western media front of our eyes."

New album 'Fertile' combines these themes with their gigantic, physically crushing sonic assault. Final track 'Shāh Māt' unites these disparate interests, with multi-instrumentalist Colin Stetson on hand to arrange (and perform) the brass and woodwind tumult.

A moving affair, 'Shāh Māt' seems to tap into the primordial energies which are unleashed in the act of protest, capturing a very essential sense of conflict and struggle.

'Fertile' will be released on April 13th - order LINK.
